Every temple pond has the same décor – a plastic dinosaur, half a rubber duck, and a handful of coins that instantly became fish real estate. You buy the little cup of food expecting something calm and spiritual. Wrong. The second it hits the water it’s absolute carnage – fins flying, tourists gasping, one koi built like a front rower shouldering the rest out of the way. By your third handful you’ve picked a favourite and you’re basically coaching him from the sidelines. Turns out the most honest wildlife you’ll see anywhere is a fish that’s just been fed.
